This is the highest peak around - at 1850m.
And this is the most distinctive peak around - It's only a 5km hike, but we did not have the time to get to the top (at least, that's my excuse....).
This is the little lake we hiked to.
There were a lot of water falls, since the snow is still melting. The streams are unbelievably clear!
And a lot of alpine flowers....
There were cool old houses with sod roofs (these are everywhere, I really like them -they are supposed to be very a very good way to isolate the house - maybe we should start a trend in the US?)
This old cabin used to be a milking shed, but is now being refurbished as a hiker's cabin.
There were sheep dogs and sheep. The dog was not unfriendly, but uninterested in human - he kept a very keen eye on the sheep though.....
Joe, Iren and I, in front of the cabin where we had waffles with sour cream and jam- a very typical Norwegian snack. Joe also had some elk sausage - which the owner had made himself, with an elk he had shot himself!
Back at Iren's house.... The view is quite amazing too.....
After diner, Iren offered to take me on another "short stroll"..... It was not short, it was REALLY steep, and it was not a stroll! But it was fun, and offered really nice views of the valley below:
Tomorrow, it's off to the mountain in Opdal - between here and Trondheim.
