Anyone who has ever read our blog knows that Joe and I are Phillistines: We only go to museums when it rains, we prefer grand landscapes to great art, and wild life to culture.
Well, this is about to change! This trip is all about culture, history and art! We are doing a river cruise from Paris to the beaches of Normandy, taking in castles, museums and history as we go.
What happened? well.... my mother is turning 100 years old on October 15th- so that means that we have to go to Metz on that day - which means flying to Paris. So we thought - hey, while there, why don't we do something fun? And a river cruise sounded like a new and fun experience. So here we are....
The cruise starts tomorrow, but every trip starts with a nice view of the NYC skyline from the Whitestone bridge, and a drink at the lounge (which is much deserved, because the airport is a zoo and we are exhausted already…).
Art, history and culture will start tomorrow!
